There’s a new Jay Electronica sighting. The ever-reclusive rapper popped up on Paul Epworth’s “Love Galaxy” this week along with English producer and singer Lil Silva.
“The title was meant to be a little bit ironic,” Epworth told NME about the song. “I guess I was trying to] find this kind weird Meters, Steve Miller Band sort cosmic-funk. The whole album is like a space concept album. So this really feels like a key track.
“I guess I had this image in my head it feeling like a Coen Brothers movie in space. I was very lucky to have] some amazing vocal performances on it from Lil Silva and the legend that is Jay Electronica.”
“Love Galaxy” is a breezy listen through with warm, hazy synths. Jay Elect appears around the three-and-a-half minute-mark, rapping about a girl looking to join him for a taste the high life.
It’s Jay Elect’s first new song since A Written Testimony, the mythical debut album finally released in March 2020. Jay and Epworth previously collaborated on “Letter to Fallon” which the U.K. artist co-produced.
“Love Galaxy” is the latest single ahead Epworth’s debut album Voyager. Stream the new song below.
