‘s first post-prison single is at the center of a thinly-veiled controversy as the Brooklyn native is being accused by Kenyan producer Magix Enga of  to create “GOOBA.”

The producer is not credited on the track but he claims that the entire intro of the record should be attributed to him. He wants his credit and he will fight for it. 

In a new statement, the producer claims that somebody from Tekashi’s team called him to have a copyright claim taken down after the music video was removed from YouTube because of Magix Enga’s claims.

“Some guys called me and they were like, ‘You took the song down and we want to pay you and you put the song back as quick as possible ’cause he’s Tekashi,’ said the producer. “And I was like, ‘OK. So, how much do you offer?’ And the guys, they say they want to offer 100 Gs, which is $100,000 Kenyan money. And I was like…I was 50/50 about that, but I decided to forgive the guy and take the money, but the next day I was like, hm…I need the credit. So, yesterday, I refunded the money.”

According to XXL, 100,000 Kenyan shilling equals just over $900 in America.

The claims have already been disputed by 6ix9ine’s team, who claims that the uncredited beatmaker was never paid.

“We investigated this claim and found that it was fraudulent,” reads a statement to XXL. “No monetary settlement was offered by anyone in our camp.”
