Riverdale, GA – Healthcare workers at the Atlanta metro area’s Southern Regional Medical Center received a gift from 2 Chainz on Thursday (April 16). The T.R.U. boss and his business partner Mychel “Snoop” Dillard donated hundreds meals to the medical facility’s employees battling the coronavirus pandemic.
“Born and raised in Atlanta, this city has always been my home,” 2 Chainz said, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “Seeing our healthcare workers putting their lives at risk every day to keep our city, state and country safe is remarkable.”
The veteran rapper and Dillard provided food by utilizing their Escobar Restaurant and Tapas Lounge. 2 Chainz and his business partner opened the restaurant in 2016.
“When things affect our community, it’s only right that we contribute in any way possible — we are looking to do that with food for the healthcare workers Southern Regional Medical Center,” Escobar noted in a press statement.
2 Chainz’s donation adds his name to a growing list Hip Hop artists who’ve been supporting the COVID-19 relief efforts.
JAY-Z, Cardi B, Meek Mill, Ja Rule and Slim Thug are among the notable names who’ve donated money or supplies amid the pandemic.
